Breathe, the second Amazon Original is the story of two men that will do anything to save the one they love. One man, driven, dedicated but broken is haunted by his past and will do anything to save his future. The other, loving, caring but desperate knows what he must do to protect his reason to live. Two forces clash in a relentless race against time in a fight to live, to protect and to survive.
R. Madhavan plays the father – Danny Mascarhenas – who’s son, Josh, is suffering from a rare lung disorder and will die in five months unless they find a donor. Josh is only number four on the list but unfortunately, time is running out. Amit Sadh, an alcoholic cop wrestling with his own demons, is put in charge of the case and finds out his estranged wife is on the list.
Danny will do whatever it takes to save his son. Kabir will do whatever it takes to save his wife.
Perspective:
The overall campaign thought was to be centred around the aspect of choice and the aspect of perspective. Because choice and perspective are a big factor in this series. Danny makes the choice to do anything to save his son. In his perspective, it is the only thing to do. Kabir makes the choice to take the law into his own hands because his wife’s life is in danger. In his perspective, this is the only thing to do.
As the show goes on, Danny’s and Kabir’s choices narrow to the point that they ‘have no choice’. Danny’s killings become easier, almost second nature. The same goes for Kabir who assaults an innocent man for his perspective of justice. No line they will not cross. No choice they will not make.
